I found this link on the TAB-Choice (Art) Yahoo group, and as I watched it I suddenly burst into tears! How profound and how innovative, and how I wish my own school experience had been of this caliber! And, how I would love to drive my own 7th grade art classes to this kind of experience! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

good idea. Problem is that this costs a bunch, and he said there were 600 kids at the school. That's tiny, my graduating class alone was 700, and my school wasn't that big. Its also hard nowadays to find those "good" teachers.

The best school ever.
Saved my life from extreme depression onset by social status and mundane routines.
Thank you Larry Rosenstock.

I graduated from HTH back in 2008, spent two years on the robotics team there, and fell in love with that school. Sadly I didn't stick with engineering but this program has helped me get into my now masters program (and hopefully my eventual PhD). I can never thank them enough for what they did, just wish more schools were like they are.

Riverside Preparatory School in Oro Grande, California prescribes to the PBL model. I am a teacher there and it is a truly inspirational place to work.

I recently left teaching because I was not allowed to do Project Based Learning. Our new principal decided he wanted us to simply teach to the test. I hope one day to find a school where creativity and risk taking is encouraged.

A really inspiring video and it's sad that this is the exception, rather than the rule

I've attended HTH since my freshman year, and I'm happy I can say that! My main takeaway was being introduced the Adobe Creative Suites and photography/video, and I've taken what I've learned there and run with it.
I started my own business with a friend and we're already working for others and helping make a difference in the local and global community. Much of what we know came from studying on our own time, but HTH gave us the foundation we needed. Search J & J Multimedia San Diego on Google

A brilliant application of uncommon "common sense" as an artist/musician and teacher it makes me joyous that there are schools out there of this magnitude....put this in place of the test score driven programs in the "traditional" classrooms and make this school a model for "no child left behind". Let the "standard" educational programs take some cues from this long overdue approach to relevent learning in a world desperately in need of learning programs for the 21st century...well done! Bravo!
