This is a video review I did for an upcoming Wheatgrass dvd. it shows the difference between using a hand-crank juicer vs an electric.

  • @nothingnessish :-) Follow up with whatever one you end up buying and how you like.

  • @nothingnessish And funny, I just noticed rawfoods video to the right, John at OK raw doing a demo on a new product, Back to Basics stainless steel single auger juicer, similar to the others. It is 90 bucks at amazon and has really good reviews. I'm so glad you brought the question up, as that is what I'll buy next.

  • @nothingnessish hey...That's a tough question. At first look this seems great, at about half the price of the Z-star. But I rely a lot on reviews at amazon for about everything I buy. This model has an awful lot of 1 star reviews, most complaining about the plastic cracking... But, there are a lot of 4 and 5 stars as well. Personally, if I were going to repurchase, I'd go for the Hurricane stainless steel juicer, 130 @ amazon. That said, I'm still using my zstar, works fine even with cracks:)

    hey,

I want to get a manual grass juicer and am undecided about getting the Z-star or this Lexen one. So what's your opinion?

    thanks

  • This is impressive! I have been using the Z-Star hand crank juicer, but for the second time the plastic surrounding the metal screen has cracked. They were kind enough to send me a replacement screen the first time, but it has cracked again after only a few uses. This makes me leery of plastic in general. Do you think that could be an issue with this one, which is about half the price of the Z Star? I think it looks like you have extracted more juice with this as well.
