  • As far as I am concerned, the bikers who intentionally elbow and shove people need to be smacked down by bridge security, it's assault pure and simple. I too would return the favour.

It's too bad that the maintenance crew uses the west side walkway to stow their gear, otherwise I would say that all bikers need to be moved over there, away from the walkers.

If these accidents keep up, they may have no choice- somebody is eventually going to get really hurt otherwise.

  • What are they doing on that side of the Bridge? I thought the other side was for bikes?

Hmm, it's been awhile since I walked across but not that long.

  • ban them!!!!!!

  • i don't get it. if you ride on the other side it has no people. why bother riding on the side with people?

  • Useless commentary. Who cares if there's been 34 accidents in a whole year on bikes? Especially when you consider that bump against the guardrail to be an "accident" How stupid.

  • Why did that lady crash into the railing? What an idiot. Learn how to ride bitch...

  • lol, more importantly are the 13 or 14 people on average every month that kill themselves by jumping off.

  • maybe you sodomites in satantown should think of having a ped lane and a bike lane.... duh!

  • I like how he does not mention all the tourist cyclists. There's at least a half dozen bike rental places a couple/few miles from the bridge. Oh right that would be bad for business. Let's just blame it on cyclists in general. Solution: get rid of a car lane, plenty of room for everyone!

  • @computersmasher good call smasher... you ever watch Office Space? bad joke

  • typical SF commie....trying to control other people's live that have no effect on his....mind your own business

  • Where I live, bike bells are mandatory on the bike paths. They should implement that there. And helmets are mandatory too.
