  • help shawn -i do not shank with my full swing but i have a bad case when chipping and pitching-is there any chance you could do a video on this as it happens to a lot of golfers -thanks

  • @mrbritvic It is out there already called "Downhill Chip Yips; Shawn Clement"; and see also "How to feel the short swing; Shawn Clement" and "Short Game Chipping; Shawn Clement"; I also gave a nice answer to another gentleman on my forum today on this very subject! So go see it on my website's forum! Shawn

  • shawn, the steady head part to this video is possibly the best advice ive seen... i've managed to play rounds in the high 70's, then the next week it'll be in the 90's due to swing tinkering. the last couple of rounds and at the range ive hit the ball with only one swing thought, keeping my head behind the ball. amazing!! ive always known it, but never really paid much attention to it. its definately the key!!! thanks soo much!

  • Thanks for the great comment!

    So much fun when you get the awareness to movement from within; this is true golf wisdom;

  • Shawn,

    I really enjoy your videos, please keep up the good work for all of our sakes! I tend to shank my short irons after hitting my driver (well) for a lengthy period of time. Any idea what causes this? Is it the same reasons as listed in this video?

    Thanks again - you are one of the best teachers out there!

  • See my new video on this called "Golf pro lesson take better divots"; thank you very much for the comment!

  • @4armSmash Just to add to this comment; have a look at my "How the arms and club release" and "Hitting the ball is not your job" videos; for those of you who do not understand the feel of it; they would be very important videos to watch; will definitely make a difference in your ball striking! Shawn

  • Agree with ss02guy, Shawn makes it look so easy, but at the range or in my yard, very little seems to go correct..I thought the tips and drills would finally help , but so far I am still hopeless..thanks for the video's tho, Shawn..

  • @Shawn

    I love your videos. I've been trying to implement your techniques.

    I went to the range tonight and had mixed results. I basically hit three different shots. Either it would be an excellent shot long down the middle, a pull hook, or a shank. I'm hoping next time I go to the range the drill in this video will fix it. Any other ideas why these might happen? Also, I've noticed on my downswing I get out over my toes at impact and follow-through. (even though I try not to) Ideas?

  • Shawn, you always hit the slot on the downswing perfectly. Any advice for us chronic over-the-top swingers on how to get to that position where the club flattens out and bisects your forearm?

    p.s. a slot video would be great! there are none on youtube

  • Shawn, was that your daughter delivering the practice balls? If so, nice touch, as she was your aide in the "head steady" video of two years earlier.

    Just noticed this a year late. These types of details, even when accidental, help give continuity to your lessons.

    Thanks for the videos.

  • Wow! Keeping the head steady has been phenomenal for my game. I've been attempting the feet together drill and the one leg drill and have been losing my balance because my head was following the club. Now that I keep my head steady, I feel rock steady and the club actually pops in front of and behind the ball every single time! It's amazing how the tiniest things can have such a huge impact on the golf swing.
