So, due to a combination of tons of work and my partially being lazy, this week's tutorial is in text form.

Do stick around till the end though to see the trailer for the new movie/test film, The Delivery.

  • I'm not suggesting you stop trying, but I think you're jumping the gun by making tutorials. You'd be better off honing your craft for a while. Watch movies and just try to recreate what you see. In the process you'll learn why they do things that way, and why it works.

  • @ChrisCapel1998

In my defense, these were created 2 years ago, and my filmmaking skills have improved greatly since then. If you look at my other video, Target Practice Rough Cut, I hope you can see how the cinematography has improved

  • just wondering if the trailer was colored because on my lcd the blacks are really crushed to where i cant really see a thing but on my computer screen it looks fine.. If so did you use a dual monitor??

  • @ShugTexas I didn't use any real color correction on those shots. It must just be your monitors. And no, I can't afford dual monitors. It'd be nice though :D

  • Hmm, how to say this without offending you? Judging by that trailer, I don't think you're in much of a position to be making tutorials. At least not in editing. Or cinematography.

One failsafe way to make your video look amateurish is to zoom in on your subject. And there was plenty of that in the trailer. On top of that, the music was poorly edited and the pacing was all over the place. Most shots were on screen for way too long, and at the end I had no idea what the movie was about.

  • @kozes The last song is Lights and Music by Cut Copy

  • @19999911

Robot Rock by Daft Punk, Make Love by Daft Punk, Such Great Heights by The Postal Service, and the last song at the very end I don't know

  • @kozes hi there

whats name of this song please

    if you know

  • To be honest, while I liked the trailer, I had no idea while watching it what the movie is about, so I don't think it makes much of a difference whether or not you convey what's happening if all you're showing is a string of random cool looking images.

I liked many of the cuts, but there were 2 I didn't like. For instance, the running shot, but also where the guy is talking to the man sitting down, we didn't need all that if we couldn't hear what he was saying.

  • Make Love by Daft Punk. And the beginning one is Robot Rock by Daft Punk also
