@1911arthur U.S. companies that operate overseas are keeping profits there and investing rather than repatriating the profits — because of punitive taxation. According to Frank Aquila at Bloomberg News, there may be as much as $1 trillion of U.S. profits overseas that are simply not being repatriated. Through an anti-competitive tax environment, high labor costs, and inflated property values, the U.S. is driving investment and jobs into the arms of foreigners.

@1911arthur Oh yeah, it's patriotic to protect union jobs and drive prices up by forcing companies to stay in the US on top of the price hikes brought on by a thousand layers of regulating government. Shipping low-end jobs overseas creates a middle class in those countries. That middle class then turns around and buys goods from us. US Corps' savings in offshoring those jobs creates capital to expand their business and create new jobs. Take an economics course, moron.

"If we can do Medicare...if we can do Medicaid" Oh, yeah - those programs are working SOOOOO well, aren't they? Let's drop Medicare and Medicaid. Let's drop the stupid regulation that doesn't allow insurance purchase accross state lines. Obamacare is driving insurance UP and lowering standards of care in the name of saving money - it does NOT ONE THING to address tort reform and other real issues that drive up the actual cost of care.
