Two weeks after the death of their drummer, David Laycock, Sterling "Mr. Satan" Magee and Adam Gussow played a private party in New York City. This video, dedicated to Dave's memory, marks the first time that Gussow and Magee have played as a duo with Gussow on percussion. (Magee held down that role for many years, beginning on the streets of Harlem in 1986.) Here, Gussow sings "Crossroads Blues" and mentions his mentor in the third verse.

If you'd like to purchase the new Satan & Adam album, BACK IN THE GAME, it's available on iTunes and Amazon mp3s. You can also purchase it direct from the artists at the following link:

  • Great! just finished Mr. Satan's apprentice. This is an important book for may reasons. It show's the dedication and hard work required to master an instrument. I believe an understanding of what it takes to get truly great adds to appreciation when listening to this wonderful music. First comes mastery which allows you to demonstrate your soul. You have shown both and it is much appreciated.

  • @bluesman33: Thanks. I appreciate the fact that you read the entire book--it's not a quick read!--and that you got the most important point I was trying to make. The music comes from the life, and both are a kind of journey. As I was writing the book, I assumed that I was writing it for about 50 people who would get what I was trying to do. You're one of the 50!

  • Superb playing Adam! Sterling just teased with us with that full bodied voice.

    Wish I was there

  • Sorry for your loss. Great to hear your stellar harp again.

  • Thanks for ur comment kudzurunner. One hopes that after 78 years on this earth we will gain a little understanding. By the way your readers and followers who have never been to the south wouldn't appreciate the kudzurunner name. I couldn't believe it when I saw it in the late 80's. Please let us ask the Government what other brilliant idea's they can come up with to improve our lives.

  • Most Excellent!!

  • Mighty fine performance. Keep on playin' Adam! Love this music.

  • @rockafella60 I bought the Kindle for PC version(Kindle for PC is free) for 9.99 from amazon, but you can also get the hardcopy there too.
