These comments saying an animal doesnt feel pain is nonsense. Try working with animal rescue groups some time. Dogs can actually suffer from depression and anxiety, as well as physical pain, and they can too suffer emotionally. My husband is an EMT, and they were trying to save a guys life a few months back at when he died, the dog started howling and whining.

When a dog feels pain it is as though something sharp had suddenly stabbed it, soon after it will go away, their capacity to feel pain and ours simply cannot be compared, no matter how hard you try. Why don't you ppl try to read some books in the topic from unbiased fellows before you try pushing wrong ideas into ppl's heads?

ANY human being has the capacity for pain incredibly greater than that of an animal.

@octoberbreeze most animals do not have the sufficient complexity to understand pain the way we do, a dog might feel pain (physical pain) but even that's different, while you and i might know what it feels like to have emotional pain the dog only knows a moment's pain if you kick pr hurt it, it wont think you're evil or particularly care, it will recognize that you might hurt it again after some more abuse but that is not the same as the child that cowards and has psychological issues because

Can their pain not be compared to normally functioning humans? Do you think those beings supposedly less relevant than regularly functioning humans cannot also feel pain? Or loneliness? Do you think that only humans have such basic emotions, and that all other creatures simply walk around in a senseless void? I don't understand people like you.
