Watch artist Van Rudd, James Crafti, Nicole Mousley and other refugee activists creatively intervene in Melbourne's Titanic Exhibit on 3rd November, 2010. An artwork called "SIEV X - the Artefact" was placed near the entrance to the Titanic artefact exhibition. The artwork consisted of a pram and child-size mannequin, and an information panel that had the following information on it:

"THE SIEV X TRAGEDY
(Suspected Illegal Entry Vessel X)
353 asylum seekers drowned, including 146 children on their way to Australia, on October 19th 2001. Their 29.5 metre fishing boat capsized under the watch of Australian surveillance patrols. Unlike the iceberg that sank the Titanic, the racism of successive Australian Liberal and Labour governments caused the SIEV X tragedy.
This exhibit represents the innocence of asylum seekers in this tragedy - a disaster that could have easily been avoided. It also symbolises the struggle against racism cultivated under the Gillard government as they continue blaming asylum seekers, refugees and migrants for Australia's social and economic problems."
