  • @Moatilatta Well, I'll agree about Radiohead's fanbase. It's shithouse and pretentious. I just hate how people think it reflects on the music. It's pretty alarming how often a band is judged based on how overrated they are/how high a pedastal they're on or whether or not their fanbase is good. Essentially, that's all the furthest thing from the actual music.

    How do you mean perfectionist?

  • @FlyingFuckstorm Radiohead's music is pefectionist both live & in the studio. It couldn't be further away from my thing. But my point actually relates to the viewpoint of the many Radiohead fans I've encountered, rather than the band itself. 'It's not that you don't like them, it's that you don't "get" them'. And if you don't "get" them, you're clearly not as musically broad and excellent [which relates to your final point].

  • @Moatilatta Radiohead's music isn't like that at all. They're my favourite band, but it's not really deep or hard to understand. You slagging off another very talented (by your definition) band because you don't like them pretty much completely invalidates your point.

If Radiohead is "too deep" or "hard to understand" for anyone at all, they seriously need to listen to more music.

  • @FlyingFuckstorm eh, I'm pretty sure I'm one of the many who would disagree with that. rip off never surpass the originals, just by the nature of being a rip off.

  • @jumeau1 and did them better.

  • @bigblubafoon Yes, indeed, I totally agree

  • @LulzAtYourFace i like mercury rev too, but he totally ripped off a lot of the flaming lip's styles and ideas after he played with them back in the 90's.

  • douche

  • Starting to remind me of Cat stevens.

  • Talent doesn't equate to how good or bad a band is. It's about originality, attitude, how well they work together, how they make you feel..

Wayne Coyne openly admits he can't play the guitar. That doesn't make him "a laugh" or a joke. He's a genuinely nice guy, who assists in making what I'd call brilliant music, from the heart. At least it's not what I'd call, the overthought, so-complex-that-if-you're-not-a-fan-it's-because-you-don't-understand-them a la Radiohead.

    I love both bands, ftr.
