Walkthrough: Castle of the Winds 2 (P1)

I'm doing a narrated
walkthrough for Castle of the Winds 2. Part 1.

This is a "rogue-like" Windows 3.1 RPG. I however thought rogue was horrible, and this game was awesome. It is turn-based overhead RPG with loads of spells, weapons, armor, scrolls, potions, and an assortment of other goodies. Yes this is one of those games you find yourself frequenting the save/load features, but if you like really good old school games, you are going to wish this one would never end.

I've played this one through an exorbitant amount of times. Luckily though, except for a few really sneaky tricks you might figure out as you play, everything is pretty straight forward. You generally know what you're doing right away. :)

To answer earlier comments:

Castle of the Winds was shareware at one point (the second episode had to be paid for), but the creator decided later to distribute the entire game free of charge on his site.

Also: I can attest that this game works in Vista (32-bit, at least - I don't know about 64-bit, but it sounds like 64-bit might have some issues) just fine. I run Vista 32-bit on my main computer and have no problems playing this game on it.

Yeah I never got it working on Vista 64bit. That's why I used VMWare to play this game.

this game is the reason I kept our old laptop with xp. I play completely different to you. ALWAYS expert. NEVER traps or light. My favourite game EVER! I get the best score when getting to next level by reloading over & over. I kill Surtur by getting him to follow me to level 1 with easier baddies.
