The third and final part of the epic journey through our solar system. Visit the enigmatic gas giants Uranus and Neptune and the cold void beyond them.

Part 1: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=325ISNSno3g
Part 2: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uHyWPDBubvM

This is my biggest project to date. It took me more than 3 months to do it all. All sizes and distances of planets and their moons are correct.

All visuals done in Blender v2.49.
Planet textures from: celestiamotherlode.net and planetpixelemporium.com

Free music from: Music4YourVids.co.uk
Composed by rickvanman.

Huge thanks to Josh Lawrence/moviemaker933 for narrating.

Enjoy, comments and criticism are welcome.

  • I call bullshit!! At 4:15 in it states that new calculations show there is no outside force on Neptune. When in 1983 a dwarf star was discovered that is most likely our sun's binary twin. And is the obvious reason for the deviations in Neptune's orbit. Now they are changing it???? Whats going on here??

  • @jking4020

And I call bullshit on your claim until you can cite better sources than "they did it".

The original discovery report with some orbital and physical characteristics of that star would be nice. If not that, you could at least point out a Wikipedia page.

With a Google search I could find neither. Instead I got a load of crackpot conspiracy claims confusing comets with stars, ignoring most known laws of celestial mechanics and whatnot.

  • NICE JOB! The Ice Giants are beautiful! Uranus is strange, being tilted at 97.8 degrees. Its moons haven't been studied much, because that was Voyager 2. Miranda, the smallest major moon of Uranus has the most unusual landscape. It has a lot of chasmata, scarps, & canyons. Verona Rupes reaches up to 12 mi. high in some regions. Triton, Neptune's major moon is my favorite, erupting carbonaceous nitrogen plumes 5 mi. into its thin atmosphere. It's like Pluto. Very similar in size & composition.

  • @KarbineKyle

Thank you for your comments. The current explanation for Miranda's appearance is that it suffered an impact just big enough to break it apart but not disperse the debris so it reformed under its own gravity. The axial tilt of Uranus could also be caused by an impact with an object the size of the Earth.

The Univerese is mind-boggling. The forces, distances and timescales of our solar system are already beyond comprehension but it's merely grains of dust compared to Universe outside.

  • there are actually 2 more items in the solar system you forgot to mention, there is a star called a hot maximus and a blue star I don't know the name of but the red maximus is about as big as the sun, murcury, venus, earth, and mars put together and is about as big as the whole solar system combined.

    Just telling you.

  • @RobloxMan6

You have something seriously messed up.

    1) If we had 2 stars way bigger than the Sun in our solar system, don't you think they'd dominate the sky even more than the Sun does in daytime?

    2) Even the largest stars seen in our galaxy aren't as big as our solar system.

    3) Mercury, Venus, Earth and Mars (even all the other planets added) only account for less than 1% of the Sun's mass. Adding it to the Sun would hardly make it any bigger.

    4) Any evidence about your extra 2 stars?

  • Good video. The only thing I would mention is the pronunciation of "Kuiper belt" kinda made me cringe more than once. It was really distracting and contrasted to an otherwise very accurate video. Check out Neil DeGrasse Tyson's pronunciation when talking about Pluto.

Other than that nitpicking- the little things can matter when you repeat it so many times-great video.

  • I have some corrections for your little film. Uranus is actually brown with traces of hair. Small objects orbit Uranus that scientists named Dingleberry. Not far from Uranus is the wormhole called Erecton. Erecton has two moons, both called DeezNuts. I think it would be cool if you added this to your little film so people can learn the troof.

  • @Water4Jeremiah

Oh dear - 26 years ago? I remember that when it happened - now I feel really, really old!

  • @koala77777771 Good timing too. Today at 17:59:47 UTC marks the 26th anniversary of Voyager 2 passing closest to Uranus.

  • Just watched all three videos. Very, very beautiful. I´m impressed.

  • The God of our solar system is truly great!

  • storms on neptune, proofs that there is internal heat goin on inside, look at that beautiful blue here must be a ocean (not made of methane gas) why methane gas is not blue, so its something else here: water mixed with a substance we do not know of yet!

  • 5 out of 5 stars for the videos. Exactly what I was looking for.

  • LOL 0:53 BEST LINE EVER TOLD!!! :D HA HA HA
