The story is based on The Autobiography of Malcolm X as told to Alex Haley. Denzel Washington was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Actor for his role as Malcolm X.

Such an enlightening film. It is bewildering how one person can carry such weight and not fold from it, but use that force to mold himself anew into an enigma and champion for all of mankind. Malcolm X is an archetype for all to aspire to be. I hope I live to see the day that he gets his due credit in American society. Thank you Malcolm for showing us your beautiful transformation. Rest well brother.

@dassfrid The Nation of Islam killed Malcolm X. Malcolm X did what was right and turned against them, but it led to his downfall.
