This took about 3 hours using a Canon 40D, tripod and the remote timer on a laptop. I shot a picture every 8 seconds, stored to the laptop in Small Normal quality. I used 1000 ISO and something like 1/100 shutter.
I then used Irfanview to resize the JPGs to 640x480, sharpen, contrast and brighten the images. Then JPGVideo collapsed the new JPGs at 30 fps into a 1.2 GB AVI file. I used Sony Vegas to put the final product together with a slight sharpen, increase contrast and increase brightness.
I did another one two days ago: 8,000 pictures. It turned out that I was watching a flower that....never opened. Hmm, sad. I'm thinking of seriously watching grass or moss grow for two days next time.
