  • The 'cockpit' floor was always rubber mats. I left it alone. I just helped a friend with his Trek remodel and he went to an auto carpet installer to replace the carpet in the front area, as there was no way to put the pergo flooring in the front.

  • Hey we are thinking about removing the carpet in our rv. I was afraid of the slides and how they would work after we got though. I was also afraid that if we didn't replace the floor with something like a solid piece instead of small pices that it might start separting and show gaps. What's you take on this subject? Have you heard anything about the pergo floors separating and showing gaps?

Hello - Pergo flooring is a great product. Mine has been down for over a year with no problems. It is not attached to the floor, but floats, held in place by the edges - this allows it to move slightly, which is ok. I have had no trouble with the slide, but that doesn't mean yours will be ok. I don't know why it wouldn't be, as the pergo is thinner than the carpet it replaced. I am very happy with my installation.

  • Wonderful Video What did you do with the front part, which I mean the area where the driver and front passenger sit is that Pergo too? Or was it left as carpet? And If what about the Dog house? I have a 97 Winnebago Warrior with no slides I am excited to redo the interior! Again a nice video.

  • Dave,

I have some questions for you. (We have a J model Navion; the layout is similar to yours.) How complicated was it to remove the carpet? Did you leave the carpet under the cabinets alone? We would like to remove our carpet and were told we can't remove it ALL because the slide 'dips' onto carpet as it comes in. (I saw it happen with my face to the floor.) Apparently there has to be some sort of cushion under part of the slide to prevent damage to the floor. Barbara (brparker@nc.rr.com)

  • Very NICE install. DW wants me to put the same in our Coachmen class C. I did have some concerns, but your video post has put most of them to rest.......HAPPY MOTORING!! R. W> Bowers (Buffalo Bob)
