our generation's scarlet letter of the dilettante = when people "love" their music so much the only thing they can say about it is that justin beiber/teenpop of the day is by comparison terrible and undeserving. this despite the very ethos and essence of indie/"underground" being incompatible w/ pop charts by design. some people are into certain music for reasons of fashion and circumstance, and it's very obvious who they are. so depressing - every damn indie pop vid on YT, same comments.

Mike's music for Owen has literally changed my life. During some of the hardest times of my life I used to go walking for hours with Owen just constantly playing on my iPod. Truth is Mike's lyrics and melodies aren't simple enough for most people. Most people i've shown him too simply don't get him. That's why he hasn't gotten the fame he deserves. I'm not one to complain though. The fact I know of noone else that listens to him make his songs so much more personal and relatable for me.
