Most German drivers don't know it,but when they look in their rear-view mirror they're most likely looking at a product made by Bavarian firm Flabeg. Each year some 30 million vehicles are fitted with the company's side- and rear-view mirrors.Flabeg is the industry's world leader with production facilities in Europe,Asia and the US. But the company is not immune to the global downturn in the car industry,so these days it's relying more on sales of its other products like solar thermal mirrors. These parabolic mirrors act as energy-providing solar collectors. As Axel Primavesi reports,it's a small but quickly growing market in which Flabeg is also leading the way.
