Each year our friends from The Children's Hope Chest help make camp possible by supplying campers with supplies that they need and may not have from home.
I think CJ Walker from 2009 said it the best.
"Thank you Hope Chest for all the things you were able to donate and gather up for the campers... We have kids who come without stuff, and we have kids who come and may have misplaced their things... They are excited after they get it, and they thank the people in the office, thank the people who give it to them, and they wish you were here so they could thank you in person."
I remember going to Camp Talcott in the early nineties and seeing kids who had to "do without". There were times I had to lend a kid a pair of flip flops or give him a flashlight because his parents simply couldn't afford one. Great to see this facility available for the kids who are less fortunate. Makes it possible for everyone to enjoy a summer camp experience. Some of my fondest childhood memories are from here.
