What Happened to Private Danny Chen?

U.S. Army Private Danny Chen, of Chinatown, NY, was killed in the Kandahar province of Afghanistan on October 3rd, 2011. His funeral was held in Chinatown on October 13th, 2011, although official cause of death has not been listed.

Community leaders, family, and friends are demanding a fair, thorough, and transparent investigation into Private Danny Chan's death.

I have Chinese ancestry and I'm a screenwriter. Daniel Chen's death will not have been in vain. I was proud to serve in both the US Navy and US Army. I know what it feels like to be ostracized. I have been a victim of it and I have witnessed others victimized by it.

We can get past racism by not fixating on it and not let it affecting our capacity for reason. From what I've been reading, Ignorance and reverse racism is NOT justice for Danny's death. And before any of you respond with PC bullshit, I'm a Chinese American. My dad was a marine and I have several servicemen in my family. I still plan on joining the US military despite this incident, which actually further persuaded me to do ROTC instead of enlist. My heritage should not be an obstacle.
