Video slide show previewing the 2009 World Series between the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Yankees by taking a quick trip down memory lane.
The Phillies and Yankees previously met in the 1950 World Series. The Phillies were lead by young pitcher Robin Roberts and center fielder Richie Ashburn, but the Yankees, lead by Joe DiMaggio and Whitey Ford, swept the Whiz Kids in four games.
The Phillies would not return to the World Series until 1980 and have claimed just two world championships in their history. Meanwhile, the Yankees, often referred to many opposing fans as "The Evil Empire" are looking for their record 27th championship.
Good luck to both teams and may you enjoy this year's World Series!

The Phillies not only have to lay Harry Kalas' ghost to rest - they have to lay to rest his best friend, Richie Ashburn as well - His Whiteness was the center fielder on the 1950 Whiz Kids, who were swept by the Damn Yankees.
