You live in an organised mess just like us , cool by the way excellent job you did just clean the mixer a bit( literally clean I did it dust makes a lot of unneccesary noise )my old mackie mixer was giving me that sound I removed the knobs washed them dry them the rest was alchohol spray from maplin shop all over the mixer it came out new and it was more then 13 years old. there was no more noise after you turn the knobs just the tip

What audio interface are you using? I just moved from Vista To Mac and my current Behringer BCA2000 Audio Interface doesn't support macs... I need 4in/4out channels or more for my Mackie 1604-VLZ mixer.
PS Love the synths!

Are those XENYX mixers any good? i Have a UB series mixer much like yours, and i get a lot of white noise when i boost the gain or volume higher than 0dB...
If that´s no problem withe XENYX series, then i´m getting one...
But what´s your take on them?

I find it a bit noisy at times. It's fairly easy to distort stuff with it as well.
I got it because it was a decent price and had twelve channels. It's done me proud so far, you just have to take care with your levelling.
