Sangre De Cristo Mountains - A Hang Glider's Perspective

A Hang Glider's Perspective of the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. No music for this one, just the sounds of soaring. Fall comes early in the mountains. The aspens still had some leaves, but had taken an orange hue. Snow was getting thicker in the shadows and the smaller alpine lakes were already frozen. Days like this are why I hang glide and although Colorado may not be the easiest place to fly, it rewards you well when you do.

Awesome view!! I just moved to montrose......i'm totally new to the sport....hopin to have my H2 by spring and lookin to meet some people in the HG community! Your suggestion on school?? Everyone is telling me draper. Only 5 hours away....and i could do a few long weekends there.....can't seem to find anyone around Co to teach. Cheers!

Reeder Mesa is a great hang 2 site near you. Willow (Blue Mesa) is another great site - not sure if it's a hang 2 or 3. There are a few others too. Rusty with Gunnison Gliders is in Gunnison. Not sure if he teaches, but I bet he knows someone who does. Mark Windchiemer at Air Time Above hang gliding does a lot of teaching in South Park. Probably closer to you than The Point. He turns out some amazing pilots. I wish I would have learned from him.

@cloudbaseimagingvid Yeah i've heard of Mark...everyone says he is one of the best. They also say it could take up to a year with mark due to colorado weather to learn what i could in 2 long weekends at the point. I definately want to learn from the best......i've talked to rusty....he doesn't teach anymore i guess. Thanks for the info!! Probably gonna give mark a call....
