Prohibitionists use the term either out of ignorance or as a deliberate scare tactic.

Legalisers and decriminalisers use it out of ignorance.

The fact is that no strain of cannabis has ever been genetically modified (it's been selectively bred, a benign process which has given us pretty much all our current food crops, from potatoes to lettuce to peas to grains and fruits) and we should dispel that myth at every opportunity.

I would like to know how it has been genetically modified? Cross breeding is hybridisation not genetic modification, yet another scare tactic! Genetic modification requires allot of scientific intervention something i don't think most seed breeders have at their disposal.
