So what do I say to one of my musicians who told me he had to leave early from a gig to sleep because he had to wake up early the next day. Or one of my musicians that showed up at 7pm when soundcheck was at 5pm. Or one who shows up in jeans on the bandstand instead of dress pants...
I miss the days when musicians where responsible and acted like professionals...were they ever professional?
@screamfff I also was at that concert at La Jolla H.S. in '78. I and a friend of mine sat so close to the stage that I couldn't hear correctly for about a week. Maynard's concerts were always loud-but that one was probably the loudest one I had ever been to.
Stan played "The Way We Were" at Maynard's 75th Birthday celebration (2002?) and there wasn't a dry eye in the place. It was the highest tribute and most emotional moment of the night.
Wow! He got loaded in the middle of the day, passed out, missed the downbeat and then blames the other guys for not waking him up! Those other guys sure were unprofessional for not waking him up!

I'd love to see the full panel discussion from which this clip is taken.
That's Nick Lane on Stan's left. Who is the other guy?
