  • @funscience - It I remember right it was 1" stock.

  • Still happy with this unit?

  • Yes. It's holding up very well so far.

  • wouldnt it be better to use some lubricant?

  • Thanks, Wally. Just interested in comparing the speeds. The metal in my hacksaw is 2" x 2" x 1/8" angle.

  • **Tool gloat**

Picked one up today for 100 clams. Only used twice by a guy who was moving and had to leave it behind. He threw in an extra set of non-chinese blades.

  • @wally53511, could you tell me the exact name of the thread cutting oil and where to get it?

  • you should use a lube to keep the blade cool while cutting. Also, was that the blade that came with it? I read that a new bi metal blade from another store other then HF make it cut even better.

  • You should get a coolent that automatically applys the amount needed to cut the metal without ruining ur blades so fast... dangerous...

  • I have one of these too, it works great once you work the bugs out. My first blade chipped off 2 teeth the first use. I bought the tool steel blade instead, I think they are 24 tooth. Have been using this blade for 6 months. I cut through 2" square bar all day long with this. True a cutoff saw is faster, but the cut is smoother and I can set it up to cut and do something else for a minute. Nice video!
