Kamenev was a leech he sided with anyone that looked like they might win he in alliance with Zinoviev and that dreaded human being Stalin kicked him out of the USSR abandoning all hope of true socialism.

The accusations were not false. There are independent witnesses (Littlepage and Scott) whose accounts prove the existence of the Trotskyite-Zinovevite Terrorist Center.

Thank you for this. Kamenev was an outstanding revolutionary, a close friend of Lenin. Why he confessed to such obviously false accusations? It's open to dispute. Trotsky said: "Human nerves, even the strongest, have a limited capacity to endure moral torture." According to current research, it looks likely he confessed because he was tortured, and lied to. He was apparently promised there would be no shootings, and no members of the Opposition would be harmed if he and Zinoviev confessed.
