When I was little I loved the smell of coffee brewing in the morning. Like many kids I asked for my own cup. After tasting it I wondered why my parents wanted to drink battery acid first thing in the morning. If Coffee Smells So Good Why Does it Taste So Bad? Maybe you can or can't identify. My friend Steven Courtney and I wrote the lyrics to this song several years before I put it to music. It wasn't until I hit upon matching it with an Irish Beer Drinking Song style that I found what we were looking for musically.

Just as children hate the weird taste of green vegetables but over time get used to it; the same thing applies to coffee, cigarettes and alcoholic beverages etc. People tastes buds adapt after a while.
