@davedupplaw oh lol i played on online game with the name wnhaimtee white name as colourd names where more experienced players.. anyways im declaring your name is now ferengi related as it has sparked a ds9 related commentary i dub thee De Facto Brunt!
i only planted mine in march, it said this on the packet. theyve already started growing, does this mean they wont form bulbs?

@stemvis1 Hi. I believe that the garlic requires cold weather to start the chemical reaction that makes the clove that you planted split into multiple cloves. So it will surely form a bulb but that bulb may be one single clove if it's not been cold enough for the split to occur. At least, this is how I understand it.

is facto brunt a ds9 refrence?

@mywootgarden heh, I'm afraid it's not Ferengi-related. It's just a purpose misspelling of the spoonerism of "Back to Front"

Can you leave it out side over the winter even though it will be under the freezing temperature?
Or does the temperature matter at all?

@matte957 The chemical reaction that makes the cloves split and form a bulb requires very cold temperatures. That's why they say you should plant in October and leave it out over the winter.
