Taking into account its geometry, Swiss technology, and beauty, the BMC RM01 matched with Force componentry gets our vote as the most advanced sub-$4,500 SRAM-equipped bike available.

  • aren't the components a little weak for a 4,000$ bike? I mean the frame and the drive train are OK, but the wheels, fork, and bars, brakes are a little weak aren't they?

  • Force compared to DA and Record?!

  • I own a 2010 Cervelo R3sl (48cm) and this bike (47 cm). Both are built with SRAM RED. Here is how they stack up: Crit Racing: adv Cervelo (1" short wheel base). High speed technical descents: adv Cervelo. Climbing: adv BMC Road racing: adv BMC Short sprints: adv Cervelo Long sprints: adv BMC Comfort: adv BMC Sustained seated efforts: adv BMC Price: adv BMC SRAM v SHIMANO v CAMPY: adv SRAM
  • @sandyj73

all the sram fan boys are saying the same exact thing . it seems to me that a lot of people just reads reviews these days instead of trying bikes out and making an honest decision.

  • seems like nothing is more important than SRAM Force and FSA components in every vids.......interesting!!!!

  • For $4000 you could also get a cervelo R3 w/ Ultegra, not sure which wheel though iirc Fulcrum racing 5.

  • @SuperWeng10 They need a consistent set of wheels to test on. Plus, they know you're going to put nice wheels on it, so why sell it with nice ones. It just jacks the price way up.

  • for the price of 4k i think they should have put a racing wheel, generally this type of wheelset you can find it on less than $2,000 bike range...

  • I own this bike and I agree, the Mavic Aksium wheels don't match the bike. I bought the SRAM Red group with Fulcrum 5s, Easton carbon bars, and Fizik Arione saddle for $5700. It's fast (really fast) but still comfy. I owned a Specialized Roubaix before this bike and the BMC is infinitely better. I also run Campy Shamal Ultra 2-Way on those day when I want even more speed (450 g lighter than Fulcrums). This bike practically pedals itself.

  • Clearance between rear wheel and seat tube is megatight. Must be one helluva stiff sprinting machine

  • Those aren't wheels, they're just alloy hoops skewered on to keep the bike stand up. Most people would upgrade to wheels costing half this bike if they were to actually race anyway.
