  • I'll admit I've had these fears and they've only gotten stronger since Harper got a majority. He's been exercising his new found power to frightening extents, stifling debate in parlament and now refuses to dialogue with the provinces on health care. I hardly think we're in a police state or anything yet. Not even close, but I have this sinking feeling that if Harper has time to consolidate his power he might one day have us under his heel...

  • @Jimera0 The problem with democracy is you get to vote someone into power, but thast's when the voting ends. You don't get to vote on the bills they propose etc. Oh well ALL ABOARD THE DICTATORSHIP!

  • @Jimera0 You mean he is acting Like the Liberal did when they had a majority? This country need a strong hand at the wheel as we are turning way too socialistic and if untreated we will turn into another Greece.

By the way using the Hilter thing is disgusting.

  • @sizone oh no more prisons those things are useless right, ive been working since i was 15 il be 17 this year and havent touched a penny Im not a lazy ass person who feels they are entitled to monetary compensation just because I live in a country, we live in an entitlement society one I hope ends. And yeah theres so much police surveillance tthat black van outside must be them ass well.

  • @sannyskate laughing about what? what is it about harpers policies that you like so much? more prisons? less old age pension for you or your parents/siblings/someone you have to support more yourself? More police surveillance like STASI? What exactly are you so happy about?

Oh wait. you must work in Ft McMurray. make sense now. enjoy your cancer.

  • You guys are idiots, whatever Il be the one laughing after we get another majority

  • @Jimera0 that day has come and past.

  • remember to fight bill C11 if you value your electronic freedom. This bill must be defeated.

  • @Narania234 However the Jeffersonian Democracy does not guarantee any rights to women. So are you saying women shouldn't have rights? Also Canada is a lot more like this than the US is. Although both States have enacted anti-terrorism laws that have violated the very ideals of our societies. So what is your point?

  • @oilersman95 violation of this freedom through the Alien and Sedition Acts of 1798 became a major issue.

-The national government is a dangerous necessity to be instituted for the common benefit, protection, and security of the people, nation or community; it should be watched closely and circumscribed in its powers. Most Anti-Federalists from 1787–88 joined the Jeffersonians.

-Separation of church and state is the best method to keep government free of religious disputes.
