Personal Trainer Michael Behnken, MS, NASM-CPT-PES, CSCS

The BOSU Balance Trainer weights around 13 pounds which is more than adequate for some core exercises such as rotations and wood chops to work your core in multiple planes of motion.

When you perform a lunge, preferably keep your knee directly above your ankle and no further.

This will ensure your patellofemoral joint is not stressed repeatedly which leads to many overuse injuries and pain in your kneecap area.

When you rotate the BOSU, make sure to keep your core drawn in tightly (belly button drawn in to spine)

Your goal with the rotating lunge is to keep your front knee from moving side to side at all.

Plant the back 2/3 of your front foot down, your weight should not be on your toes.

Your back knee should be 1 inch above the floor.
