BS: games 23# Trogs

Oh yea, one of my very old childhood favorite games, Trog!
I used to play this game when I was a kid all the time!
in this game, you control one of the dino-mites, who loves stealing eggs from the evil Trogs, who's favorite food is dino-mites.
you can defend yourself from the trogs by punching them or use powerups to beat them.
there's pinapples, which turns you into a hungery dinosaur, which you can turn the food chain around for a while and eat them.
and there's the Hot Tamale that gives you a long rang attack against the trogs. and plus if you get to the flashing egg last and not get killed, you can skill 3 levels. there are some bonus games that are alot of fun. I think this game should be re-released on the Wii someday though the wii channel!

I never played this and thought it was going to be crap after I saw the first level (well, and before then even when I saw the Acclaim logo) but things really seemed to pick up fast!

yea, seeing how most NES games that have random characters suck. but this game is a must have for a nes collection. (I really think this game should be re-released someday)

Humor: alot of it. (expecally those trogs got caught in their own traps)

@Gargomon251 yea, I think the HVGN should do a review of this underrated classic. (I think he's the 5th game reviewer I've been watching, first was Irate gamer, then AVGN, then wiiviewr, and neverchris)

Irate gamer: some people call him a rip off, but I think he's more of a tone down version of him. sometimes whatever AVGNlefted out, he usely picks it up.

happy video game nerd- he reviews old classic games that are often underrated.

I always enjoyed playing the arcade version of this game. I was totally unaware there was an earlier (or home) version of the game.

the funny thing was that originally, it was to be more of a strategy game which you controlled a hand which dropped bones that would help your dinosaur go to the eggs. however, many considered this to be too "difficult and frustrating" for arcades, and because of this, Trog was to be canned, however Bally/Midway gave it a second chance for one reason: Jack Haeger [Trog's creator] spent almost all of Trog's budget on the claymation used in the game.

I use to have this game on my nes, this game is a lot of fun , I`ll buy it again on ebay for my nes, I miss the game, it brings me good memories =) . the games of today are more complex, they dont do games like this one anymore =(
