Wasn't Zappa the father of fusion right after Miles Davis ? But I agree with you that his music isn't about complexity and maths. In my opinion he has written one of the most emotionel
music ever !

Chunga's Revenge is such a beautiful piece. I love how restrained it is. I know many people who only associate FZ with the "weird" fusionesque music that put so many musicians to shame ('Inca roads' and whatnot), but this is also an important part of Frank's legacy. Musical vision and presicion was his trademark, not necessarily complexity.
