I stepped outside and immediatly shivered from the cold. Texas weather was NOT amusing me.
"What is THIS!?" The "Living the Dream" manager (whose name I forgot) demanded.
"W...W...What's What?" I stammered from the chilly air.
"Your outfit!" he cried. "I said BLUE! This clearly isn't blue!" he said waving his hand in front of my shirt. "How are we going to do the 'matching' thing if you're not wearing blue!!!!!??" he yelled.
"Marissa, please go change. Don't make George angry." My mother pleaded.
"Uuhhhhh......." Frankie groaned. "How long are we going to have to stand out here!?"
"Not much longer buddy. If Riss will hurry." Joe stared at me.
"I'm not changing." I declared, crossing my arms. "Have me in purple or don't have me at all."
We all held still for a moment and then my three older brothers began laughing hysterically.
"What!?" I said, trying to stay angry. It was very hard to stay mad while watching them laugh. Joe was on the ground, rolling with laughter. It was very funny to watch.
"Why so serious?" Kevin asked me while gasping for air.
"Because I'm sick of being bossed around!"
"Who bosses you around?" Nick questioned.
"ugh! EVERYONE!!! Being an -almost teenager- stinks!"
This sent them into another laughing fit.
"Come here." Joe said with his arms opened out to me. I walked over to him with my arms still crossed, a new frown apearing on my face. He pulled me close to him but I didn't return the hug.
"You know we love you right?" he whispered in my hair.
"hmph."
"Do you love us?"
I shrugged.
"Do you love me?"
"I might." I mumbled, finally giving in and returning his hug.
"AAAWWWW!!" I heard from the rest of my family.
"shut up." I mumbled with a smile on my face, pulling away from Joe.
"I love all of you guys." I announced to them. "I just hate the fame that comes with being who I am sometimes. And its hard for me, going to a public school. I want to come home and whine about my problems to some one but everyone is ussually too busy!"
"We can make time, now that you've told us." Nick promised.
"Yeah." Kevin agreed. "Whine to us anytime."
"Ok. So today in history my teacher made....." I started, but Dad inturupted.
"But not now." Dad said, pointing behind me. I turned and saw that George had made the camera men record this whole scene. Whoopie. Another part of my life for the world to see.
Seeing my reaction, everyone (not just my brothers) laughed.
"Aaannnddd....CUT!" George called out. "That was beautiful Marissa! Much better than the script I had! Perfect timing everyone! Marissa, you have GOT to do more like that! It was a Hallmark moment! Like a scene from a movie! Like something off of the Brady Bunch! Beautiful!"
"Umm....You're welcome?" Then my family gathered around me and we shared a group hug, something we hadn't done in a while.
George looked as if he was going to pee in his pants. He squealed, water beging to form in his eyes.
"Exuse me a moment. I need to go inside....allergies are acting up." He said wiping his eyes. As he was walking inside I heard him mumble, "Beautiful, just beautiful."
He was more of a softy than I thought.....Then again, so was I.
