@cossack207 you should it is very very awesome! I work at the Homestead during the summer and I can tell you this, it is just as much fun working there as it is to visit!!! I work in the Flindts Garage where you get to make a corncob doll, twist hay, grind wheat, and make a rope to take home :) When I get a little break in the Flindts I like to go over to the barn and hold the kittens and pet the foals :)
Visiting the Homestead is something you will never regret and it only costs $10 :)

im surprised the surveyers house still stands. it was many many years between whenit was lived in and when the book came out. i would have thought it would be taken down by then,.

This video does a nice job showing the main things available, plus show why De Smet and Walnut Grove are such great Laura vacation destinations for families with small children.
