I tend to stick with whatever I watched first... I can't watch the subs for Champloo, because I watched the dub first... I can't watch the dub for Naruto, because I watched the subs first... Etc

@shinobi67 yeah it does look pretty mental lol

@theAngryscotman It can be. Though you'd best be willing to get in line hours in advance for whatever guests you want to see. Their autograph lines fill up quickly.

@genestarwind7 Yeah. Johnny Young Bosch as Lelouch is MUCH better than the Japanese voice actor. The Japanese fandom even agrees.

All I can say is that People are going to bitch and Complain about dubs(Which is Fine) but I personally like watching Series with the Dub and the Japanese Subtitles. "Oh but the Sub is Better".......I'LL be the one deciding what and how I want to hear it because BELIEVE IT or Not there are just some great Series out there done by an English Cast. (Cowboy Bebop, Code Geass, Fullmetal Alchemist, Evangellon or Deathnote Anyone for starters?

There are times where you can't help but watch subs, and it's not because of the voices. Not all animes get dubbed, and maybe they will in the future but if I like the story I'm not going to wait. For example, Code Geass that everyone's talking about, I saw it before it was licensed here and I wouldn't have known if it would be either. I love the japanese voices; in my opinion, they are perfect, and I'm bias towards that and I can't bring myself to buy it in English.

also theres 1 more thing the subs are usually great most of the time the best but, every so often theres just stuff u cant do without the english dub cast, like watch beck in japanese and u will just laugh ur ass off and a couple of anime's like cowboy bebop and code geass you just cant compare the 2 engilsh just DESTROYS the japanese version

i cant agree actually with crispin here, i think its awesome that there gearing anime more towards a western audience, they still keep the anime style but mix in stuff that appeals to the western crowd too, like me hands down my Fav Genra of anime is the Knights in shining armor and magic genra aka Berserk, slayers, guin saga, claymore, Orphen, final fantasy, etc.... i say BRING IT ON JAPAN!! I WANT MORE!! u make it ill buy it!

I prefer dub for most. Like in Code Geass the dub is simply AMAZING.

A couple years ago I wrote a college paper on the differences between animation in America and Japan. It was very interesting to research, because I noticed that in every Disney animation, there was a happy ending while in... say... Miyazaki's films, the ending was often bittersweet. And the lessons the characters learn and teach the audiences are very different as well.
Crispin does a fantastic job of speaking about these topics without being too over-the-top. :)
