@jeepinbanditrider I own a AE model, it took some getting use to. the answer to the question how well does it launch there is no comparison (in my opinion) as the AE system won`t allow the engine rpm`s to be over 2K before the clutch starts to engage, giving a manual clutch a big advantage. Also upshifting the AE model at low speeds at low RPM`s (mainly 1-2-3 gear) causes a backlash in the shaftdrive that would not occur in the clutch model. Overall I like the system.

The bike seems ultra smooth, either that or you have a superbly damped camera mounting.

It's the better part of a second slower in the 1/4 than the standard model..likely mostly lost time at the launch.

I've got the FJR1300A. I was iffy about the electricly shifted gearbox. But it was tempting. I mean .2 secs between shifts sounds awesome. I know there's no way I could bust out a shift that fast.
But then again for me (personal preference) I just like having that clutch there.
I have to wonder how well it launches in a drag style take off.
