Make Something from Nothing, the first of a series of cultural projects called 'Make with a Red Stripe', features a unique sound sculpture created by sound artist Yuri Suzuki, in collaboration with DJ Al Fingers, singer/songwriter Gappy Ranks and designer Matthew Kneebone.

The 2.5 metre high, fully functioning sound sculpture is made using thousands of recycled Red Stripe beer cans partly collected at this year's Notting Hill carnival. The project celebrates the DIY culture of the brand's Jamaican roots, with Reggae, Dub and Jamaican music influences as well.

Make Something From Nothing debuts on 16th November with an exclusive launch party at Village Underground. Visit https://www.facebook.com/redstripelagerbeer for more information.

  • i am at a point in my life where I simply cannot stand the fucking Top Comments section

  • @wilqfilmy it seems that this last option is the boring truth... Just another hipster method of branding a beer, this has very little to do with (sound) art

  • Ok. So how does it sound?.. The music at the end is clearly no recording of the room itself.

  • I'm digging the sublime beat sounds good

  • Lo vi en noticias locas..jejejej...wenisimo!!!

  • i thought the cans would serve as a kind of amplificator themselves, but sound systems were used...

  • Someone needs to do this with Pringles cans and the free speaker they offered..

  • The sound of the cans being moved around is more of sculptural effect than tjhe music produced at the end

  • This is utter crap! Not a beer speaker at all! All the equipment is a proper sound system! Misleading
