Mispronunciation of Hecates. It is supposed to be pronounced Hecatees, the pentameter requires it. Also the mousetrap is not quite meant to be a parody, as Hamlet confesses to the first player that he rather enjoyed his performance of a prior speech in Act 3 Scene 1 i believe. Granted the acting is supposed to be more melodramatic because that was the style of the time, but a parody? No. This is a dramatic turning point of the play.

Yes it is supposed to be a parody, but hamlet was terrible and he isnt meant to be a poor actor.
