I'm a bit of a turtle fanatic ... admittedly. I have adopted a loggerhead (female) that has been tracked in the Florida Keys. She's lovely. I also care for dozens upon dozens of local freshwater (painted) turtles in their own environment.
I'm ever-amazed by them ... and I also love that you captured their huge exhale upon exiting the water! SUPER footage here!

Mahalo for this video. The honu are loud when they bob their heads up and inhale fresh air. But their bodies are very efficient in using every bit of oxygen in their bloodstream so they can stay underwater from 15 minutes to even two hours before exhaling, depending on their metabolism.

that is one big turtle!!! omgawsh that could like eat me if it wanted, if i was there with a big net, id catch that turtle!!!! and then id give it some food, put it in a big monster truck and drive it home and keep it as a pet
