cardaz;I've been catching 'em for 35 years and I wouldn't do a "free hand pick up" of any dangerous snake.They are unpredictable,wild animals,and I think he done well.

@carzdav He was barely holding it. It was pissed off because before he was called out to capture it other people were poking at it and annoying it. This was shot at the release site as we wanted footage of its size before we let it go. In over 20 years of catching snakes he has never been tagged by anything venomous because he knows how to hold them.

The local snake catcher!!...that's what worries me! How much force is he putting on the snake with that jigger, and it's not even padded!

@pseudechis There was barely any force used on it. He's been catching snakes for over 20 years and knows what he is doing. He hasn't hurt one yet.
