I don't think they despised each other. Natalie was upset that Warren Beatty didn't get the role, so she was simply businesslike with Richard, He has said that they would say hello, start making passionate love on set, and then say goodbye. So it wasn't that she was nasty to him, just that she didn't go out of her way to be friendly.

she wasn't really singing.
she acted but another girl sang this.
when i found out i was really depressed because for like 3 years i thought it was her and i thought she sang so beautifully and then i found it wasnt her...:(

The "other girl" was Marni Nixon, whose name appears in the title of the clip and in the note I included directly beneath the clip.
