My parents, Wilson and Norma White, tape-recorded a meeting they had with Mike Paley on June 15, 1989 at the Crestmont house.

Mike was a Seventh-day Adventist contractor who had worked on the house when it was built in the late 1970's.

In early 1988 my parents brought Mike to meet David and asked David to use him for any modifications to the house that he needed done.

At the time of this recording Mike had been asked by Megatrend Communications, Inc., the company that David was building, to live at the house and protect it.

In this meeting my parents were trying to pressure him to take their side and turn on David, because he and his family had been their close friends from before I was born. Mike was not aware that he was being recorded.

You can hear the complete tape by listening to the four parts starting here:

Vaishnavism is not associated with any new age movement. It is the oldest religion on earth.

"With 550 million worshippers throughout the world, Vaishnavism represents the largest branch of contemporary Hinduism.

Vaishnavism stands out among the other major branches in that it represents the closest continuation of the Vedic tradition, and therefore speaks to the staying power of that ancient system of thought.

The sheer quantity and variety of religious practices and mythological figures subsumed under the divine personage of Vishnu speaks to the remarkable synthetic ability of the Vaishnava tradition.

Due in no small part to its syncretistic history, Vaishnavism has been of particular interest to scholars, both religious and secular, for centuries.

In recent decades Vaishnava scholarship has also been taken on by a number of academic institutions in Europe, such as the Oxford Centre for Hindu Studies and Bhaktivedanta College, and has even spawned an academic journal, the Journal of Vaishnava Studies (JVS). And, thanks to the efforts of the Hare Krishna movement, Vaishnavism has proven itself not just to be a religion of Hindus of India and in the diaspora, but truly a religion of the world."
