On Monday, Oct. 5, 2009, physicians supporting a Single Payer Healthcare system protested outside the White House. Meanwhile, at the Rose Garden, located on the White House grounds, President Barack Obama was hosting a meeting with an estimated 50 doctors. They are supposedly advocates for his "Pubic Option" healthcare reform bill. Only one Single Payer doctor was invited to the Rose Garden session. Sharing their views on this video about this evolving situation are: Dr. Margaret Flowers, Dr. Andy Coates and Dr. Mike Huntington. • It is shameful of the President to kick single payer off the table. Just shameful.

  • Well John maybe i'll just go to an emergency room here in the US and wait in line, which is fairly common. Or maybe i'll be one of those who go bankrupt in the US from med costs - 2/3 of those have insurance. Or maybe the insurance co won't cover my claim.

The idea that you have to wait for necessary care in other countries is a silly myth.

  • John please get out of this post. Stop spreading your lies. We all know that you work for the insurance company. Churchill was a person, not God. he could be wrong.

  • "Socialism is the philosophy of failure, the creed of ignorance, and the gospel of envy; it's inherent virtue is the equal sharing of misery." - Winston Churchill

  • OMG Myth lol you mean fact!

In Canada alone their are less doctors thanks to government run health care their is no compitition almost nobody wants to become a doctor in Canada.

The ones that are doctors make far less then American doctors and deal with alot more paitents sorry i just don't want that to happen in America.

I agree things need to get better but a government run system is not the answer the free market is and always will be the only way.

    Peace.

  • Ok when you get sick please go to Canada or the UK and wait in line for such wonderful health care.

  • Ya, look at Canada and the UK and every other industrialized nation which ALL have a national health care system.

They all spend much less per capita and less % of their GDP than the US, everyone is covered, and they have better rated health care.

Insurance companies are nothing but a middleman that take 100s of billions in health care dollars for their massive overhead and profits.

  • Wow i would never want this lady(Dr Flowers) as my Doctor she seems nutty single payer is a huge joke just look at Canada and the UK it does not work!

I will keep my private health insurance you can have your government run garbage!

We the MAJORITY don't want government run health care wake up!

  • "It's going to cost too much money"

And you don't think that people having no insurance hasn't sent the cost of medical care through the roof already? And it will continue to get worse.

How much did Bush's stupid wars cost? How much is Obama's war costing? How much money do we throw away to Israel?

But you whine, bitch and moan because it may cost a little more out of your paycheck to make sure everyone gets health coverage?

Since when did money become more important than life???

  • All these people harping " devastation to freedom" and "it's going to cost us blah, blah blah dollars".

You selfish pigs. You're the same ones that support the patriot act because you claim "freedom isn't free" in order to save Americans from terrorists.

You people are the new American terrorists. What is giving up a little bit of freedom and I emphasize LITTLE, compared to making sure thousands and thousands of people have health care coverage?

    Where's your fucking priority?????

  • Yes, the public option and a single payer system will be a serious attack on freedom: the freedom of insurance companies to steal your money and deny payment when you get sick. Thank God I'm a Canadian, and we kicked those thieving, racketeering bastards out of our country decades ago.
