  • hey i love your rockcrawler vids... i so want to make one just like yours but i dont think i can afford it right now. can you give me a rough estimate on how much you spent building it?

  • thanks. rough cost except for radios,servo,battery,wheels. Chassis(woodplate,aluminum sheet t1.2,suspension parts,gearbox kit,brass gear,small parts) about 15000 jpn yen($163), Tires(EPDM foam,adhesive )about 5000 jpn yen($54) Tuber body( aluminum rod 6mm dia. gas. solder ) about 5000 jpn yen($54).... handwork,machining,tri al and error are priceless...

  • Cool! You are a very clever man bigstone I'm very imppressed with that and because you will b busy making more I'd better test them for you mate, lol Merry xmas to you and your family .Cheers

  • hmm wheel weights.. maybe just add some lead shot into the cavety in the tire. will that work? would keep CG lowest as possible without affecting tire too much, still can be nice and squishy, but the shot will always roll to the lowest point. or maybe tie some loose cord around the rim and thread on the cord lead weights, that will pendlum to lowest point. (sorry i dont know about rc crawling)

  • this may be of interest. youtube x0TbeN0wNb4 its pendlum weighted wheel, so the weight is always at the lowest. I wonder the weighted section could be made to extend say 5-10mm into the tire (outside the rim hub) which would lower the CG even further. anyway , nicely cnc machined wheel rcrockcrawling-dot-com (products_id=1043) about $150 a set. with 6.91oz weight in each wheel. or could put some water in tires :-// !!

  • on your finished tire what's the over all wight, and is it balanced. by the way nice work

  • True Japanese innovation!!

  • Good work but since you're running on lugs does it matter if the foam has friction or not?

  • can you make me a set how much

  • I LOVE JAPANESE CARTOONS....BUT WHEN I SEE YOUR VIDS...UR GREAT MAN!!! KAGE BUNSHIN TECHNIQUE!!!! HEHEHE

  • Great video. For someone who is looking to get excellent adhersion, there is a spray on rubber coating made by Performix that comes in various colors and cost about $10.00 US. I used this product on the wheels of a combat robot weighing about 200 pounds. It did not crack or split or chip and had unbeatable grip on all the surfaces I ran on. One of the best product I have tried to date. I am in no way connected to this company, I just want those in these hobbies to know this product works.
