How to Run Guerrilla Warfare

The two key elements of Guerrilla Warfare as demonstrated in the film Michael Collins.
The first pillar is local population support, without that your operations will not succeed.
The second pillar is using what you have to your advantage, whatever that maybe.

This footage is taken from the film Michael Collins. This film undoubtedly has a bias towards Collins himself and is horribly historically inaccurate, but that doesn't mean it's not well made in places. This three and a half minutes, for me encapsulates what the Irish War of Independence was about during the 1920's

@holsterboy166 Actually it's estimated that the north did. Although the south had a slightly higher casualty rate, the north had a much larger army, and so their total number of casualties was significantly higher. Granted, the records from this period are kind of shady.

@TheCaptainjuicy That's the problem that made the american public really despise the war, the american battle plan was less about capturing land than it was about inflicting casualties. Marines would storm a hill just to kill the VC entrenched in it, and then just leave the hill unoccupied. Maybe this strategy contributed to the loss in vietnam.

The United states has 1 million troops and the best tech but the Viet cong and taliban have fucked them up real badly.
