http://www.reflowrepairs.co.uk - Reflow Repairs specialises in Infrared Reballing and Reflowing of Chips on Laptops and PC's.

This video was recorded using our In-House designed Macro Camera system and shows the tiny 0.6mm diameter solder balls which we have already reballed onto the Nvidia GeForce 8600M GT GPU being reflowed onto a motherboard.

This family of GPU chips are found on many laptops including HP, Sony, Dell, Acer, Samsung, Asus, Fujitsu Siemens etc etc.

http://www.reflowrepairs.co.uk for all your reballing and reflowing needs in Uk and Europe.

  • Hi, can you tell me what cam model/macro lense your using?

  • @surbo & BA Consoles

The camera is our own custom design, and unfortunately its details are commercially confidential.

As you can see it takes the guesswork out of unsoldering and Infrared Reflowing (soldering) chips, and means just the right amount of heat is always applied.

We also have own custom designed PC Controlled Closed Loop Infrared Oven, which took over a year to develop, and is used in the chip reballing process. A video of this in action will soon be available.

  • @nickpaton56 is there anything out there with similar capabilities as your custom camera that you would recommend? thanks.

  • @surbo133

The reason we designed the camera system was because we couldn't find anything out there.

From an engineering perspective I would like to give you details on it, however commercially it gives us an edge over our competitors so we cannot reveal anything about it - sorry!

  • @surbo133 you can get a camera that does a similar job from usbearth.com for £190 shipped.

  • What kind of microscope is that? Do you have the brand and model?
