it is only because Jeff Hanneman is a WWII history buff and he has always used war as a lyrical topic when writing songs. Jeff likes to write things from perspectives other than his/our own. Like "Angel of Death" he is talking about Joseph Mengele(Nazi war criminal) who would perform experiments on Jewish prisoners during the war.Slayer just presents reality in all it's evil forms
