Revamped music from the SNES version of Shadowrun.

High quality:

Originally it was planned for a 'remake' of the SNES game, but the project died very quickly.

Since I had 3 or 4 songs completed, and the excitement of working on each of them was so freaking great, the end result was the whole music library from the game.

I tried to stay true to the original songs keeping their theme intact.
However I tried as well to be re-inventive, fresh and original on each of them.

So if you find them good or bad, awesome or awful, just leave your most honest opinion.

I'm really willing to read what your critics and comments are.

Hope you enjoy them :)

  • What kind of software do you use for the drums? The drums sounds quite realistic in some songs, which creates a cool blend between organic and synthetic, and in some songs the drums sounds more like standard electronic drums.

These revamps are awesome :-). I keep coming back to these songs every once in a while.

  • @Qwivi Thanks! Glad you like them :)

All songs were made in Reason. In general all the drums/percussion are sampled. Some tracks use the Rex loop format with shuffling at certain points for variety. And others are sequenced drum kits with samples I carefully selected. In the case of the drum kits, each sample have their individual post-processing fxs , like reverb, equalization and compression.

I see. I use Reason as well. I have yet to learn how to use the Dr Octo Rex properly though. :-P I think Reason gets a bit too messy when mixing things. All of those different devices tend to clutter things up. I do however think that Reason is awesome for creating different synths. The routing within and between different synths is very logical and easy to understand.

Do you make some other music besides these revamps?

  • @Qwivi Haha yeah I agree. Reason can and will get all messy and cluttered when there's a lot of devices on the rack. One thing I do to reduce the clutter is to use combinators and lots of labeling for each channel and their respective fx's. But still, sometimes can be very confusing. About my own compositions? yes I do and I plan to upload a few of them soon. so stay tuned :)

Yeah, that does help. It would be nice to be able to shift the colors on the combinators and instruments. Green combinator = lead etc.

Okay. I look forward to it. :-)
