@Allomities You can't really blame people for supporting the New Deal in the early 30s. Almost everyone was including Ronald Reagan. Of course, after the effects of the policies were known, even FDR's own advisers realized that it didn't work.

The term was coined for liberals that became fiscally conservative & voted for Ronald Reagan out of fear that Jimmy Carter would turn America into a 3rd world country. These people were still socially liberal but wanted Americas to continue generating wealth. Ron Paul is Fiscally Conservative but Socially Liberal. That's a Neo Con.
